A: No,backpacking on your own is not allowed in Bhutan.
Q: Can I travel on my own without booking the trip with travel agent in advance?
A: Yes you can,provided you pay the mandatory fee of 180 US dollers per night and a givernment sur charge of 40 US dollers per person.Mandatory fee US$ 180 will cover your accomodation, transportation, meals and guide charges.
Q: Do I need to get a VISA for Bhutan?
A: Unless you are of Indian nationality holding a valid Indian passport, you need a visa for entry into Bhutan.
Q: How can I get a visa to get Bhutan,How you can get visa,Are there any countries from where I can get a visa?
A: Tourist Visas are all processed in Thimphu via a local travel company. No embassies abroad will issue Bhutan tourist Visa. In order to process your Visa, first your trip duration and itinerary must be confirmed. Then once you send the passport details and one passport size photo, your visa is then ready in 10 days. It is possible to request an expedited. The processed Visa number is then faxed or emailed to you. This confirms your visa for your arrival to Bhutan. When you arrive at Paro airport or at the border at Phuentsholing (for those using the land option), you will then have your visa stamped on your passport; please have 2 passport size photos to be used upon arrival, and visa fees of US$ 20 is to be paid directly.
Q: How can I get to Bhutan? Can I travel overland from India?
A: You can get to Bhutan by Air from Katmandu, Delhi, Kolkata, Dacca, Bangkok, Myanmar. If you opt for Overland options, regular road transport are available from Indian cities of Siliguri, Darjeeling, Sikkim and Kalimpong.
Q: How can I pay for my tour? What Currency do I have to pay in? Can I use my credit card?
A: We accept deposit in form of Credit card payment or bank transfer. The balance payments for the trip can be wired, Banker's Check or even personal checks are accepted if received 60 days before the departure date. Payments mostly accepted in US$.
Q: How safe is the Bank Transfer Deposit?
A: If you feel unsafe bank transferring to a distant account you have two options: a) you may ask us for client references from your country who have traveled with us recently and or b) you can also decide to bank transfer 15% of all payments upon confirming the tour and the rest to be paid upon arrival in Bhutan using Traveler's Checks in US$.

A: We recommend you to insure yourself against sickness, emergency rescue, accident, Hospitalization, cancellation etc., as we accept no responsibility or expenses which may arise from mishaps to persons or their belongings during these tours.
Q: What is the best time to trek in Bhutan?
A: Spring and fall are the best times for most trek in Bhutan. But there are some great treks in the lower reaches of the Himalayas, that are best done in winter.
Q: What languages are tours available in?
A: Tour guides are mostly English speaking. But German or Japanese speaking guides are also available with an extra fee- usually for groups of 4 or more persons.

A: Good time to visit Bhutan is anytime except June-July, due to the monsoons rain. The best season to visit Bhutan is between Mid Feb till May & from Sept to November. Many people opt to travel during the moderate months when there are less tourists and plenty of choices in terms of accommodation and flights.
