Kathmandu Durbar Square
It is historic seat of royalty. It is here that
kings of Nepal are crowned and their coronations
celebrated. Kathmandu's most impressive sight,
Durbar Square, is crowded with ancient temples and
palaces reflecting the religious and cultural life
of the people. It is also home to Kathmandu's Kumari,
or 'living goddess', a young girl believed to be a
reincarnation of the goddess Durga. It was listed in
the UNESCO world Heritage Monument list is 1979.
Bhaktapur Durbar Square
Is situated at an altitude of 1401m, 14 km east of
Kathmandu and is the least developed of the three
cities in the valley. Translated Bhaktapur means the
city of devotees. The most laid back of the three
valley towns its narrow brick paved streets harbor
hidden shrines and statues around every corner. It
is quite easy to spend a whole day here relaxing and
taking in an almost fantastic atmosphere. Bhaktapur
is famed for its woodcarvings, pottery and cloth
weaving. Many of Bhaktapur's practices have changed
little over the centuries.
Patan Durbar Square
Patan (The City of beauty) is situated on the
southern bank of the holy river Bagamti (a tributary
of the Ganges) some five kilometers southeast of
Kathmandu.Nowadays,it has virtually become part of
sub metropolitan Kathmandu. The city is famed for
its wealth of Buddhist and Hindu temples with an
abundance of fine bronze gateways and wonderful
carvings. Patan is known for its expert craftsmen
and metal workers.
The Patan Durbar square is full of ancient palaces,
temples and shrines, noted for their exquisite
carvings. The Sundari Chowk holds in its center a
masterpiece of stone architecture, the Royal Bath
called Tushahity. It was listed in the UNESCO world
Heritage Monument List in 1979.
Swayambhunath
This is one of the world's most famous Buddhist
Chaityas. The 2000-year-old Chaityas is commonly
known as the 'monkey temple' because of its resident
population of monkey. This spectacular Buddhist
Stupa, from which the Buddha's eyes gaze serenely
down, lies on a hilltop only 2km from the center of
Kathmandu. The views of Kathmandu and the
surrounding valley are superb from here. It was
listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Monument list in
1979.
Boudhanath
The Stupa of Bouddhanath lies eight kms. East of the
centre of Kathmandu.This ancient colossal Stupa is
one of the biggest in the World and the centre of
Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal. It was listed by UNESCO
as a World Heritage Site in 1979.
Pashupatinath Temple
Situated 5km east of Kathmandu, the temple of lord
Shiva, Pashupatinath, with two tiered golden roof
and silver door is considered one of the holiest
shrines for Hindus. Although only Hindus are allowed
inside the temple. Other religion people can see
from out of the temple premises. The temple was
listed in the UNESCO world Heritage Monument list in
1997.
Changu
Narayan
Situated at the end of a long ridge which runs well
into the valley, it is said to have been built by
king Hari Dutta in323 Ad and said to be the oldest
temple in the valley. It was listed in the UNESCO
World Heritage Monument list in 1979.

Daman
Daman (elevation 2400m) is the place to go for those
seeking the ultimate pan-Himalayan view and willing
to travel the extra distance to find it. Located
75km to the South West of Kathmandu. Daman offers
the only unimpeded view of the entire Himalayan
range, a sight guaranteed to leave the early riser
spellbound for days to come.
Kakani
Kakani(elevation 1982m) lies 23 km to the North
West of Kathmandu. It is a less crowded and more
pristine destination which provides excellent
mountain view of Ganesh himal, Langtang and
Annapurna. The offering of nature provide the
impetus to visit Kakani, and nature lovers will hail
the close-up view of Ganesh Himal to the North as
well as the beautiful oak and rhododendron forests
on the South slope leading down to Balaju.
Lumbini
Lumbini is the birth place of Siddartha Gautam (
Lord Budha).It is the pilgrimage destination of the
Worlds millions of people faithful to all school of
Buddhism.The mail attraction of Lumbini si the
Sacred Garden spread over 8sq km and possessing all
the treasures of the historical area.The other
attraction of Lumbini is Maya Devi Temple,and the
place where BUddha's mother giving birth to him.
Nagarkot
Nagarkot is an ancient village,east of Kathmandu and
from here we can see Mt.Everest and other peaks of
the Himalayas. The top of the Nagarkot commands
accelerating views in all directions. The altitude
of Nagarkot is 2229m/7133ft from the sea level.It is
32km from Kathmandu.
Dhulikhel
Dhulikhel is also 32 km from Kathmandu and it is the
popular for Himalayan viewpoint,Many visitors visit
here to stretch their legs before setting off on
longer treks.Some old Newari houses and several
temples are as much interresting as watching the
view of Himalayas.
Pokhara
Pokhara is a resort city of remarkable beauty.The
serenity of Phewa Lake and the magnificent summit of
Machhapichhre rising behind it create an ambiance of
peace and magic.Clearly the most stunning of
Pokhara's sights is the spectacular panoroma of the
Annapurna ranges which forms its backdrop.the most
popular sites of Pokhara is Phewa Lake,Begnas
Lake,Rupa lake Devi's Fall
Mahendrs Gupha(Cave),Annapurna Museum and some other
temples.
Gorkha
Gorkha is really easy and panoramic area. One can
see spectacular view of Ganesh Himal, Boudha Himal,
Langtang, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu and Annapurna South.
Around 4 hours drive from Kathmandu, your
transportation will drove you Dhadingbesi. Next day
your trek begin upto Ghyalchowk. This is the
pristine village of Dhadingbesi. The people of this
area are still living on their traditional farming
way of life. They are including Gurung, Tamang and
Magars. All along your way you will view green
forest, rice field, traditional houses of Gurung
family and also hear the beautiful rhythm of birds
singing on forests. Begnas Tal is very beautiful.
Very peaceful; you will see views of Annapurna, and
Manasl. This is a good trek for children.
