Bagmati & Manohara
These are the place inside the Kathmandu valley. Many kinds of birds can find at the bank of these two rivers (Bagmati & Manohara). Birds we can find that area are Egrets, Herons, Kingfisher, Ibisbill, Wood Sandpipers and Plovers. Because of the pollution now a days the number of birds has reduced at these place.

Phulchowki
Phulchowki is located near the Kathmandu valley and we can see varieties of birds at that place. A Red- Headed Trogan (A rare bird) also sighted at Phulchowki on 2000 AD. Phulchowki at 2760m lies 18 km South East of Kathmandu. At the foot of approach to this mountain lies the Botanical Gardens of Godavari. It is only the half hour drive from Kathmandu. Over 90 species of birds are recorded at that spot. Some of them are Spiny Babbler, Cutia, Mountain Hawk, Eagle refous Bellied Pied, Wood peckers, Black Throated Parrotbill etc.

Shivapuri
Shivapuri lies 12km North of Kathmandu. We can find many kind of birds inside the Jungle. Some birds under the protection by Nepalese Army inside the Shivapuri watershed & Wildlife Reserve are Longhing Thrush, Crested Serpent Eagle,Little Pied Flycatchers, Ruby Throats, Babblers etc.

Nagarjung
The other recommended site of bird watching is Nagarjung (2105m). Which lies North West of Kathmandu. It is very near from the heart of Kathmandu (Thamel). Birdslike Pheasants, Magpies, Sunbirds, Ruby-throats can find at that spot.

Pokhara
In Pokhara, the two well known lakes Phewa Tal, Begnas Tal and the surrounding areas are highly recommended. Near these lakes we can see many birds like Gulls, Terrs, Ducks, Falcons, Pheasant Tailed Jacana, Happie Grey Bellied, Tesias, Common Pintail Snipe, Bulbuls etc.

Chitwan
Chitwan National Park is the best place for bird watching in Nepal. It lies in the Terai regions of. We can find many birds like Cormorants, Lesser Adjustant Stork, Blue Indian Roller, Hornbills, Strokbilled Kingfishers, Grey Bengal Flotican, Large Tailed Night jar. Asian paradise Flycatcher, Bee-eaters and Lesser Florican etc. More than 500 species have been recorded in Chitwan.

Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve
The Wildlife reserve and Kosi Barrege lies in the Eastern Terai along the East-West highway. A very large number of birds are seen along the Koshi River and in the grassland. About 26 species of Ducks are seen there. Birds like Black Ibis, Honey kites, Ospreys, Marsh and Pied Harriers, Stork Billed, King fishers, Black Heades Orioles, Himalayan Ruby Throat, Peregrine Falcon, Patridge, Sand Pipers, Vultures etc.

Bardia National Park
Bardia National park is covered with Sal forests and the rest is ravine forests and grasslands, Bardia is also good for bird watching. The birds like Brahmini Kites, Brown Headed Gulls, Cormorants, Night Heron and purple Herons, Cinnamon Bitterns, Woodpeckers. Bee- Eatersa, the rare Great Slaty Woodpackers, the Majestic Peacocks can be seen in flocks both in land as well as on the beaches.
